  • dpwolf.muxtape.com - I've been playing with muxtape today. The site allows you to upload and share a mix of mp3s. It's a bit flaky but it's a great idea with a very simple design. This is part of a mix I put together for a dj set a few weeks ago. It starts with The Velvet Underground and ends with Kanye West. Enjoy!
  • Dead Programmer Society: I Would Rather Be A Jazz Programmer - A play on the idea of the 'rockstar programmer' used in many employment listings at startup web companies. (via htxt.org)

These are my links for August 15th:

  • : StevenClark.com.au - Just added this web developer's blog to my RSS reader. Some good reference material on design, semantic and standards based web practices.
  • Wordpress Themes and the functions.php file : i.Farang - A good introduction to the use of the functions.php file in WordPress themes. Adding code here can give your theme unique, additional functionality like an integrated plugin. It also provides a means for giving users the ability to customise the look of the theme via the admin menu by selecting colours etc.

These are my links for August 14th:

  • Adobe - Developer Center : Wireframing with Fireworks CS3 - I've been a big fan of Fireworks for ages and have used it in the design process of several websites but somehow missed the fact that it had a library of standard interface widgets built in, designed for wireframing sites and applications. Very handy. They're all 9 sliced so they scale nicely.

These are my links for August 10th:

  • WP CODA - A WordPress theme which uses jQuery to allow the user to browse through individual pages/tabs with an sliding animation. It looks all cool and flash like, but it removes the ability to permalink to a particular page. Still, could be a useful technique for the right kind of site.
  • FriendFeed - FriendFeed aggregates all of your activity from sites like Flickr, Twitter, Delicious, Last.fm, YouTube and Vimeo into one place. It also provides an RSS feed with this combined content and a widget for embedding on any webpage. It also has an API for developer use which can return data in XML or JSON, nice.
