  • Pods : WordPress CMS Plugin – I haven't tried this yet but it looks like the best WordPress CMS plugin so far. Pods lets you create, manage, and display custom content types using WordPress. Like Drupal CCK, these content types can relate to one another, allowing for sites packed with interconnectedness. Automatic pagination, filtering, public forms, access control, menu editing and more are possible with the Pods CMS plugin. (via http://delicious.com/villains)

  • WordPress › Showcase » The Guild of Commercial Filmmakers – Yay! The Guild of Commercial Filmmakers site I developed last year has been included in the wordpress.org showcase! The Guild is a film production company based in Melbourne and Sydney Australia. Representing eight directors, they specialise in the production of high quality television commercials. The site employs WordPress as a CMS using a structure of categories for each director's work and tags to describe the content of the works. This allows visitors to browse for "automotive" or "food and drink" commercials using tags across the site and is used to automatically suggest related content for each work. Custom fields are used to store credits for each commercial as well as the location of media files such as jpeg poster frames, mpeg 4 movies and flash videos. Director's showreels are dynamically created XSPF playlists and are played by the JW Flash Player. The site was designed by David Campbell.

  • awi – Google Code – This project has built AMFPHP services to provide straight forward interaction with the WordPress database through Flex/Flash GUIs. No updates since Feb 2007 and the only documentation I can find is in Spanish, but it works well and provides some good functional examples to use as a start for building my own.
  • Flash remoting for PHP: A responsive Client-Server Architecture for the Web – AMFPHP is a free open-source PHP implementation of the Action Message Format(AMF). It allows Flash, Flex and AIR applications to send and receive data from PHP/MySQL based content management systems and databases.

  • WP CODA – A WordPress theme which uses jQuery to allow the user to browse through individual pages/tabs with an sliding animation. It looks all cool and flash like, but it removes the ability to permalink to a particular page. Still, could be a useful technique for the right kind of site.
  • FriendFeed – FriendFeed aggregates all of your activity from sites like Flickr, Twitter, Delicious, Last.fm, YouTube and Vimeo into one place. It also provides an RSS feed with this combined content and a widget for embedding on any webpage. It also has an API for developer use which can return data in XML or JSON, nice.
